Marc Quinn The Big Wheel Keeps on Turning
This is his first personal exhibition in Russia.
"The Big Wheel Keeps on Turning is the story of the planet and everything that lives on it. It is our lives in time. Like spiral of a shell, the world is in constant revolution"
Marc Quinn
This exhibition leaves very optimistic, delightful impression. I liked it a lot especially because I am interested in the theme of life and "story of the planet". An eye can show the world of the single person which is as deep, unbelievable and infinite as the world around us. I think the author paints eyes as maps of the world, representing connection between the world and the person. In his work "The Eye of History" the visitor can see how the The whole history projects as a map on the eye of the person. In "Where the Worlds meet the Mind " it is possible to see a retina of an eye where not only philosophically the worlds meet the mind, but also phisically: the yellow circle (optic nerve) actually recieves visual information.
There were also incredibly vivid and full of life paintings of orchids and sculptures, showing the beuty and peculiarities of the world. And each of them makes people think about what this world is like and how past, present and future connected in one spiral curve like a shell, standing in the middle of the hall in Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow, where the exhibition is held.

I was rather frightened then optimistic after this exhibition. I also got this weird info. There's a head in aquarium and when visitors tryed to look closer, the watching woman asked to step back. She said "It must be being damaged of the temperature somehow, cause the head has gone stained and spotty, it wasn't like that in the beginning". ouch.
