Dolls exhibition

It was a very great exhibition of a hand-made dolls of very different types. It lasts only three days, but it happens every year. As for person who don't like dolls I was very excited for what I have seen. Truly amazing designs. When you enter this place you understand that it's not a child toy anymore. It's an art, it's a design. Somehow a product, when you see how those little bodies are made, somehow a fashion, when you see clothes of those dolls. In some ways even fine art, because some designs go over the frame of a defition of the doll. It's very cool to know, that there are so much people interested in that. Both creators and buyers and those people who collect them. I was very impressed by tiny dolls. As my friend told me it's very hard to make them. All those body's parts are moving like real and it's very impressive. Also there was some parts of dolls, that was sold to different people for they could create their own doll. That's a way how people start being involved in design by small steps. They choose everything by themselves, not buying the whole doll with a ready design, but making it very personal, with their own taste. My personal fav's are those bug-like dolls Those beautiful women And these plumpy and very charismatic women Other photos you can see in our facebook group.

  3. Well, these dolls are really awesome... each of them look thoroughly elaborated. But I am surprised that there are no photos of popular in Russia and espesially in St. Petersburg trend of ball-jointed dolls (any doll that is articulated with ball and socket joints). I was interested about this theme about a year ago an even tried to make my own doll by a few tutorials, here I attached a good master-class for those of you ,who will be interested both in skills development and aesthetic point.

  4. There's definitely something great about this dools (well at least some of them...) I think it is all about how personal there are. These are the dolls we are not got used to seeing as they do not attempt to be perfect and soulless like those ones that are now on the market. Some of those tiny statues have character of their own. And that is what makes them so live.
As for my personal favorite doll than it is definitely that samurai guy...
