"Два часа в резервуаре" or art misunderstanding
It was a virnissage of a new
exhibition in Museum of Modern Art Moscow which would extend from 25.11.2011 to
2.09.2012. The exhibition calls “ИСКУССТВОестьИСКУССТВОестьИСКУССТВО”
(ARTexistARTexistART) you
can go and see in MMoMA (ул. Петровка, 25).
Well, for me it’s always rather difficult to talk about art, because it
something you should feel and feelings is the really difficult thing to
explain. This exhibition contains works from early avant-garde to contemporary
art. The wide period of presented works helped because I’m rather skeptical
about modern art at the last time. The interesting thing I’ve noticed that
works mostly are hang up quite well, I mean the composition and combinations of
close to each other pictures. And one more interesting thing, one part of exhibition
happens in the dark. They made some kind of tunnel with pictures on walls and
some video installations but there are no light, you can see only light flashes
sometimes. Moreover, in this tunnel flour and walls are soft, (unlucky people
on heels), it’s quite difficult by the way to go there in the dark when flour
is not stable. In case there were dark people used their cell-phones to see the
pictures. The process looks funny by all appearance and I did not really
understand their concept but at least it was unusual.
Generally, were a lot of good, inspirational, well made pieces of art,
and I’ve finished the review with feeling of satisfaction.
I'll show you some pictures to intrigue or put off going to contemporary art museums.:)

Looking on this I'm starting to thing that artists spended more time on art in 20 century. It's so detalized, I see the perfect, eye-filling hard work when look at it. Why works of modern artist reminds me more something that was made in last 20 minutes. That's obviously very personal, but I have this feeling so often.
I mean, yes may be it is some really deep concept in this 2 photos which is not clear for me, but it does't look so assiduously made. It makes you feel something but not the respect for a hard working.

This installation reminded me Maarten Baas's installation with burned funniture "Smoke". It's always interresting to see how design, furniture (objects) have something in common with art.
The final dot of the exibition was stolen Picasso's work. The wall with no pictures on it, with a nail and a small tablet- Pablo Picasso, painter at work. I didn't really undersatnd if it was a piece of art, a mistake or a thift scene but that was nice. Nice big embarrassing dot.
Actually, I never understand the modern art, because it really difficult to understand the meaning of for example, grandma's socs, so it's hard to be agree or disagree with an artist.
