This week I visited pop/off/art Gallery in the center of modern art "Vinzavod", which presented an exhibition "Zigy" by Viktoria Begalskaya.       As I found out after, Vika Begalskaya, born in Dnepropetrovsk (Ukraine) , is a graduate of Kharkov State Design and Art Academy who currently lives and works in Moscow. Her group and individual expositions took place at the sites of the National Centre of Contemporary Arts, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, the Latvian House of Artists , the Zverev Centre of Modern Art and others.      The new project of Vika Begalskaya dedicated to the "golden boy Ziggy", - the name Amalia Natanson, Zigmund Freud's mother , tenderly called her little son. It is both, diving into the depth of the subconscious mind and a sourse of self-analysis.It includes a careful and tender self talk about joy and grief, reality and mystery, loss and sorrow. We can only build theories about meanings that artist put into he

"Did Soviet Russia have any design?" you might be wondering :) After visiting the exibition held at Moscow Manege I would say: "Yes! Design did exist in Soviet Union." The exibits were showing various aspects of social everyday life. The first products I got to see were the radio sets. These were very cool to me, because I couldn't think of how far distance they could reach.(the scale was saying: St Petersburg, Vladivostok, Berlin, Praga, Paris & so on) Than I've been told that the radio wavelength of those times was mainly huge. And now they're not needed because of the internet, now radio waves are ultra-short. This huge radio set was called "Rigonda". It was constructed by very talented Latvian designer Adolf Irbite in 1967.  Radiola "Riga 104" from the back side. It was made of cardboard. The start of production 1973, Latvia. Record player "Volga", 1957. Radio set "Zvezda-54

Ride The Planet is an exhibition dedicated to the russian best freeride sportsmens. At the exhibition beautifully conveys the spirit of freedom which is the main point to be in this sport. I need to say that freeride is not safety at all. Every descent is potentially the last but skilful operators were able to make a shot that represent the greatness of nature and the great experience and easiness in moves of the sportsmens at the same time. Guys from Ride The Planet team have been visited mostly all placed that were appreciated as a mecca of freeride. Magnificent landscapes that inspired not one generation of painters don't leave anyone indifferent. All photos is high quality shoted so it's pleasure to watch it printed on a A 2 posters. It was about 150 photos exhibit a nd all of them are absolutely different in angle, place and composition of shooting. Besides of photos it were some examples of the sport inventory. I found some interesting devices

SREDA

Last weekend I visited an exhibition "Sreda" which represent a documentary review about art events in quite young Kharkiv's art group "SOSka"  and their personal works. The main emphasis has been done on their project "New history" that took place in Kharkiv's art Museum. As the members of "SOSka" group claim, the project aimed to create an open dialoge between different cultural formations.  Works placed in the museum exposition according to the intervention principle demonstrate a general tendency to create a new Post-Soviet social reality documentation. For example, Alexander Vaindorf's video "Detour. One particular Sunday" is placed next to "Zaporosian cossacs writing a letter to the Turkish sultan" by Ilya Repin. Narrating about one general theme - illegal immigration with all resulting effects . But not the works or even their conceptual message were the main subjects of "Sreda", but t
